Experienced veterinary technician wanted for 30+ hr position for our small animal hospital. The ideal candidate will preferably be an RVT, proficient at placing catheters, drawing blood, performing dentals, dental and digital radiographs, and animal restraint. This role requires someone with a professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude.
Our environment needs someone with the ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers. Our hospital is a state of the art full service facility and we need a team member who can embrace our philosophy of providing the highest quality of care for our clients. Our clients have animals with all types of health issues and we take effort to never lose sight of the special human-animal bond. Management experience with interest in developing into a Hospital Manager over time would be a plus and present future opportunities but not a requirement.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Personalized patient care
- Physical examinations
- Obtain and record patient case histories
- Knowledge of and administration of medications and injections
- Surgical prep,
- Expose and develop radiographs
- Lab sample collection and in-house lab testing
- Prepare animals, instruments and equipment for surgery
- Assist in diagnostic, medical and surgical procedures
- Monitoring of anesthesia
- Client education
- Work to insure high standards of protocol for a clean, safe clinical setting
