Family Member Veterinary Staff

The staff of Family Member Veterinary Hospital are hired for their professionalism, compassion and love of animals. We are pleased to introduce each of them to you here briefly but hope you will come in to meet each of us in person.

Doug Glover D.V.M.Doug Glover, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Doug Glover is a 1985 graduate of Kansas State University. He has been providing care for small animals in California since 1987 and opened “Family Member” in 1997. The name of the hospital originates from his guiding philosophy which is to provide the level of service desired by clients who consider their pets “one of the family”. He and his wife Tina, who is actively involved in the business, have been happily married for 28 years and have five “four-legged kids.” Terra Cotta, their Brittany Spaniel, joined them in 1999. Ruby, a mixed rescue dog, adopted Doug and Tina in 2001. The newest members of the Glover Family are of the feline variety. Willie is a rambunctious youngster, Nigel is a more mature abuse survivor and Tigger is a Scottish Fold rescue. Dr. Glover and Tina enjoy traveling and following Kansas State University sports. His goal is to provide the utmost in quality care for your pet and make visiting the veterinarian a positive experience. He welcomes the chance to earn your trust and the privilege of caring for your special pet.

Suzy Link D.V.M.Suzy Link, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

We are thrilled to have Dr. Suzy Link on our team of professionals. She has been practicing in our area since early 2002 so she is very familiar with the Orange County passion for four legged family members. Dr. Suzy Link graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph, Canada in 2000. She practiced veterinary medicine in the Toronto area for 2 years before moving to California.

She was thrilled to join the caring team at Family Member Veterinary Hospital in October 2007, and loves to witness the special bond between her wonderful clients and their furry family members. She strives to provide the highest quality of care for all of her patients, and to make each visit as stress-free as possible. She enjoys all aspects of her profession, but has a special interest in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and feline medicine. She and her husband Joe became proud parents to their first child, Noah, in 2009. They also have seven furry family members of their own, including two small mixed breed dogs, four Devon Rex cats, and one American Shorthair cat. In her spare time, she enjoys home decoration, scrapbooking, running and cycling.

Shinobu GunadiShinobu, Registered Veterinary Technician

Shinobu Gunadi is our Registered Head Technician and Qualified Veterinary Dental Technician. She joined us in 1997 and oversees the nursing staff. She has been in the veterinary field since 1987. Bu, as we call her, and her husband Alex have been married since 1997 and have seven "kids"; George (Pharaoh Hound mix), Phoebe (Dalmatian mix) and five cats; Baby, Coffee (their ladies), Booger the only male cat who rules the kitty clan, Smudge the chubby shy girl and their recent "accidental" addition and completely spoiled daddy's girl Zoom. She enjoys cooking and reading. Bu and Alex like to visit national parks and ride dirt bikes. She's also very proud to be short (4'7") and relates well to short legged patients.

JanessJaness, Veterinary Technician

Janess has been with Family Member Veterinary Hospital since 2000 and has worked her way from Kennel Attendant to Technician. She has three dogs, one cat, a Lovebird, two desert tortoises and two Oscars. She left us to attend Chico State University but returned to lend a hand for holiday breaks and summers. Janess recently earned a degree in Music Education with an emphasis in voice. We are very proud of her and grateful that she has continued to remain a part of the team whenever her schedule allows. Janess loves to sing, draw, shop and bake. She loves working with the animals but aspires to one day teach a high school choir.

Heather MalaisHeather, Veterinary Technician

Heather joined us in July of 2006. She began as a kennel attendant but was moved up to the position of Technician Assistant due to her skills with our four-legged clients and her dedication. In her words "I love my job and all the animals I get to interact with". In her free time, Heather enjoys painting and drawing and of course, playing with her own two year old crazy kitty named Terrence (with her in this photo).

In the future, she would like to pursue the career of Veterinary Technician which we are confident she would be great at.

Eddie, Veterinary Technician

Eddie has been employed at Family Member Veterinary Hospital for the past seven years. He has progressed from a volunteer through many positions in the hospital so his knowledge base is very broad. He is now a valued Veterinary Technician and we appreciate his problem solving abilities. Eddie has worked on and off over the years while attending college at Cal Poly Pomona. While in Pomona he earned his B.S. in biology and his M.S. in neurophysiology and became a published scientist. Eddie has also taught biology at Cal Poly Pomona and continues to train research students in his field. His peers view him as a leader and we are so grateful that he still finds time to contribute to our mission in what ever way we need him to. When he is off work you can find him playing tennis, driving up and down PCH taking photographs, or playing fetch with his two dogs Mr. Belvedere and Wendy.

Lauren, Receptionist

Lauren is a people person so her role on our team is rewarding to her.  “I enjoy working at family member because of the new relationships that I am constantly forming with our clients and their furry babies. Even though I have three of my own at home I love the feeling when one of my four legged friends walks through the door for a visit!”  We want to extend our congratulations to Lauren and her new husband Keith on their recent marriage.  After hours, she loves hanging out with my husband and their three four legged children (Bailey, Roxy and Moose), cheering on her favorite baseball team THE ANGELS, and scrapbooking.  We all feel lucky to have been the recipient of her many creative talents.

Rayell, Veterinary Technician

Rayell joined Family Member in March of 2008. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2002. Aside from been a technician, she has worked in other positions in a veterinary hospital including pharmacy technician and kennel attendant. She takes great pride in helping to facilitate the Doctor/Client relationship and thoroughly enjoys her personal relationship with every furry patient. She is also responsible for insuring we always meet all of the OSHA safety standards. Rayell has four cats: Thomas, Oliver, Buster and Bud-Bud, all who are rescued. She also has a cockatiel bird names Ernie, who is also a rescue. During her free time she enjoys volunteering with the ballet company that she used to dance with, when she was younger she used to train professionally as a ballet dancer. She also enjoys needlepoint, various types of art and spending time with her family.

Anthony, Technician Assistant

Anthony takes great care to observe his patients and their behavior and works to understand how that transfers into what they need from him.  “It is rewarding to have the chance to get to know so many pets on such a personal level and to work with a passionate team of animal professionals.” Anthony is parent to two cats and he is currently majoring in Environmental Studies and has a wide variety of interests including camping, hiking, reading, writing, yoga, gardening and making music on a wide variety of instruments.

Amanda, Technician Assistant

Amanda's dream is to become a Veterinarian.  She is a pre-vet student at UC Irvine. She tells us that her experiences have confirmed that she has chosen the right area to dedicate her professional endeavors to. She enjoys meeting all the amazing and responsible pet parents in our area and seeing how much they value their pets and their pet's health.  She loves the bond she gets to form with her four-legged patients.  “They really do become a part of our family and there is nothing more rewarding than the look a pet gives you that says “thank you" for helping me”.  She feels fortunate to be able to spend her days learning each patients personality and comforting pets who might be scared or don't feel well.  She loves to spend time with her own dogs either playing soccer at the dog park, going on long runs, or napping (“they are really good cuddlers”.  Her hobbies include riding bikes to the beach, reading and visiting the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park.

Tristyne, Receptionist

Tristyne has been in the vet field since 2007 and enjoys relating with our clients who count their pets as family members just as she does.  “I seem to fall in love with every animal that comes through the door and seeing as I can't own 100 of my own pets (which I totally wish I could) I really enjoy and cherish the relationships I have with all of our wonderful clients and their four-legged friends. They really tug my heart and that is why I find this job so rewarding.”  Being and animal lover, she enjoys spending her spare time with her puggle Harley and her rescue pitbull Bella.  Next time you see her ask her what she has trained them to do.  Other spare time activities include sharing laughs with family and friends, cooking, traveling, the beach, music, hair design and soccer which she has played since she was 6 years old.  Tristyne is working towards a BA in Business.
